TheAllen Avionics HEC-1000 is a transformer/isolator that eliminates “hum” caused by potential difference – among other factors – in the interconnection of the MPX composite signal from the Processor to the input of the link or FM Exciter, or in long cable runs.

Even small potential differences or ground loops can cause an audible rumble in a broadcaster’s transmission. The HEC-1000 eliminates up to 60 dB of the “hum” induced in the composite signal. With a nominal impedance of 75 ohms, flat DC response up to 30 MHz and connection via two female BNC plugs, the HEC-1000 offers precise impedance matching with minimal reflection and no artifacts in the MPX signal.
