The new ATEM 4 M/E Broadcast Studio 4K is one of the most advanced and compact switchers in the world. The new ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel is a sophisticated hardware control panel for all ATEM switchers. It combines modern design with state-of-the-art broadcast technology for faster workflows. The new design includes an integrated LCD screen and high-quality angled buttons that help reduce keystroke errors. The buttons are also backlit to make it easier to quickly recognize the most important keys. You also get a professional joystick for DVE and camera adjustments, a calibrated stick with soft damping for fades and much more. The buttons include dynamic displays that allow complete customization of labels as well as custom colors. Shift buttons allow you to double the number of inputs by selecting a second set of buttons for the configured sources, allowing you to control up to 20 inputs. ATEM switchers include advanced 6G-SDI and HDMI inputs that are switchable between SD, HD or Ultra HD up to 2160p30, while the advanced ATEM Broadcast Studio 4K model includes 20 12G-SDI inputs for HD or Ultra HD projects up to 2160p60. All inputs support audio mixing and feature a frame resynchronizer so you can use genlock-free sources such as laptops for live PowerPoint™ presentations! You also get 2 XLR balanced audio inputs for connecting to professional sound mixers and a HiFi audio input for home equipment such as an iPod®.
Outputs
Get all the outputs you need to record your video master and broadcast your program to the audience at the event! The ATEM includes standard program outputs with down-conversion, plus auxiliary outputs allowing clean feeds, perfect for connecting to giant outdoor LED screens, projectors, disc recorders and broadcast decks! You can use this incredible high-quality DVE to position, resize, rotate and scale live video in real time. You can also create professional picture-in-picture (PiP) effects with 3D borders, shadows and customized lighting. Dynamic DVE transitions can be added to your production with effects to shrink, push, animate in swoosh and rotate, which shift your live video revealing the next source. The ATEM production switchers include a media pool memory that allows you to download still images and graphics for keying using the two integrated media players. All popular image formats are supported, or you can download directly from Photoshop CC with the included plug-in. The ATEM Production Studio 4K models support up to 32 Ultra HD RGBA still graphics, while the ATEM 4 M/E Broadcast Studio 4K supports 64 Ultra HD RGBA still graphics and 180 frames of real-time Ultra HD video or 720 frames of real-time 1080 HD video.

The advanced keyer’s features include adjustable screen controls for selecting and sampling colors in areas of an image. The new keyer also includes adjustment controls for the foreground, background and edges, as well as chroma correction tools for scattering and suppressing reflections so you can refine overlays. Best of all, in the new ATEM 4 M/E Broadcast Studio 4K model you now get 4 advanced chroma switchers on each M/E bank button, so you can create multi-layered effects! ATEM switchers work in perfect harmony with Blackmagic HyperDeck SSD recorders. You can connect up to 4 HyperDecks as sources, just like cameras, to play back pre-recorded clips during live program production! You can follow the clips on each HyperDeck, select one of them, trigger it, pre-roll it and play it back at any time. You can even create macros to record from any camera source in the lobby and play back the content in slow motion! Now you can create powerful shortcuts called macros to automate complex sequences of precisely timed actions on your ATEM switcher. Record a sequence of transitions between video sources, including switching effects, audio mixer adjustments, camera control settings and much more, using the software- or hardware-based ATEM control panel. Macros are saved as XML files that can be edited even with a standard text editor so that you can combine them to create sophisticated sequences that would be impossible to execute manually during a live production! In other words, frame rates of up to 60 fps in Ultra HD! 12G-SDI also offers support for all common 720p, 1080i and 1080p HD video formats, which means you have a switcher that can be used for routine HD work today, while being ready for Ultra HD when needed! Only 12G-SDI technology offers the high frame rate of Ultra HD via a single BNC connection that also fits your conventional HD equipment!

Get complete control of your cameras straight from ATEM Software Control! The new Blackmagic URSA Broadcast and Blackmagic Studio Camera models can be controlled via the program SDI feed to the camera, so you can remotely control camera settings and the complete color corrector, all from the ATEM Software Control virtual panel. There are two types of control interface, one with a traditional camera control unit (CCU) style layout and the other with a color corrector interface that is the same as DaVinci Resolve’s primary color corrector, so you can take advantage of all your colorist skills in DaVinci Resolve by adding incredibly creative and innovative styles to the look of live productions!

External AudioAll ATEM switchers include a powerful built-in multichannel audio mixer! You can mix audio from your camera and other video sources, both from the HDMI and SDI inputs, as well as external audio from the HiFi and analog XLR audio inputs. You can also use the ATEM audio mixer to mix the inputs directly or use the “audio follow video” mix, where the audio automatically crossfades when there are cuts from one input to another. The analog audio inputs are great for microphones, audio mixers, music players and much more!
Independent Aux Output

ATEM switchers have independent auxiliary outputs that are perfect for feeding video screens on stages or for transmitting “clean feeds” without live graphics to recorders for program mastering. The front panel buttons and display make it easy to select the sources you want to send to the aux output.
