O Inovonics 703 Rds the latest “Mini Encoder”. This is the quick and inexpensive way to have an RDS / RBDS, with easy programming using the supplied Windows software. The data from your station goes into non-volatile memory, and the unit can then be re-installed at the transmitter site. With Inovonics 703 you can get the station name, address, time, station promos or advertising message to your listeners. Features: – Scrolling -PS and static radio text messages (up to 128 characters) – LCD display – software using USB programmable self-guiding Windows® (included) – Encoder programming is easily confirmed on site without a computer – fast data transfer allows scrolling messages to be updated in seconds – The INOmini 703 can be used with any transmitter, The 703 INOmini can be used with any transmitter, generator and exciter Inovonics 703 RDS specifications – PS (Program Name Service) at the user’s option, the PS entry can be either a static 8-character informal station ID (a “street name”, such as VIVO 105), or a scrolling station promo or advertising message up to 128 characters long. PS entries are displayed on the front panel of every RDS radio, and on most cell phones and MP3 players that have built-in FM radios. The display mode and scrolling rate of PS messages are user-programmable – PI (Program Identification) Each RDS station is identified by a unique numerical code, its ‘digital address. ‘ North American ‘ K ‘ , ‘ W ‘ and ‘ C ‘ call signs are automatically converted to the appropriate PI code by 703 software. In other countries, the PI code is assigned by the local Broadcasting authority and is entered numerically – AF ( Alternative Frequencies ) Enter up to 25 frequencies of translators’ retransmission or other sources of the same program as the main channel. This helps RDS radios search for the best signal source for a particular listening location – RT ( Radiotext ) This 64-character block of plain text is separated from, and in addition to, the scrolling PS message. Usually used to obtain additional information about the station, such as a web address or telephone number, this text is accessed with the INFO or TEXT button on some radios – M / S (Music / Dialogue Switch) The service flag that identifies the broadcast of a mixed music program or a speech-only station (news / talk) – DI (Information Decoder) Part of the RDS protocol identifying the broadcast as stereophonic – MPX sample input: a high impedance unbalanced bridge (BNC) input, requiring a composite / MPX sample or 19kHz sync signal from the stereo generator at a level between 0. 5V and 5.0V pp.5V and 5.0V pp The 703 does not incorporate an internal time base to support mono transmission. – RDS OUTPUT : An unbalanced 75 ohm source (BNC), the output level is adjustable between zero and 3V pp – PORT PROGRAMMING : A Universal Serial Bus (USB) interface for direct connection to the USB port of any PC, the interconnection cable is provided.
