Omnia Volt FM Audio Processor
OMNIA VOLT – AUDIO PROCESSOR FOR BROADCASTING Omnia VOLT is the latest triumph from the designers who created the multi award-winning Omnia 11, the acclaimed Omnia 9 and more than 13,000 Omnia ONEs on the air, all over the planet. But VOLTisnot “just another audio processor “. With VOLT, this team has rewritten the rules of DSP processing for broadcasting, fine-tuned the algorithms and created the most musical, most powerful, mostincredible audioprocessor in a rack unit.
VOLT delivers more sound performance and processing power in just 1RU than others give in 3RU. Be our guest to compare this little dynamo against other processors costing thousands of dollars more.
OMNIA VOLT – AUDIO PROCESSOR FOR BROADCASTING
Whether you’re a novice or an expert in audio processing, Omnia VOLT gives you the audio tools you need to create a superior sound signature. Choose one of the factory presets, designed by Omnia’s processing experts and our “exclusive guest programmers”. For those who want to go beyond the factory presets, Omnia’s new “QuickTweak” system allows you to “fine-tune” your sound quickly. For processing experts, dive deep into complex processing parameters. Get exactly the processing you want by adjusting it “on the fly”, whether you’re in front of the processor or sitting in your car, controlling the VOLT via the internet. No other manufacturer knows as much about processing as Omnia. And QuickTweak has been designed based on our decades of experience and market leadership, “algorithmically linking” interactive and complex parameters to create a core of “meta” controls.
VOLT highlights
– State-of-the-art clipper, designed by Frank Foti – the latest ideas in clipper design by a processing legend. – Dynamics Reactor, designed by senior algorithm developer Cornelius Gold – Six separate AGC sections: a wideband section followed by five multi-band, phase-aligned sections, each with controls for every important parameter; and an adjustable midband crossover. Give your station the loudness and consistency of sound it deserves. – Five individual, phase-adjustable limiters, each with Drive, Hold, Threshold, Attack, Decay controls. They provide protection against overmodulation while keeping your station’s sound signature strong and clear. – Bass Pre-Clipper: Fully adjustable “Firmness” and “Harmonics” controls. You’ll get strong, listener-pleasing bass without having to worry about intermodulation distortion. – SENSUS Processing for Streaming: Omnia’s exclusive SENSUS algorithms predict how HD, DRM or Multicasting will affect your audio. And they precondition your signal, making compressed audio sound better – even in low bitrate streams. – Stereo Optimization for Analog FM, WITHOUT ADDING MULTIPATH. A wider, more exciting sound that PULLS on listeners’ radios. – Total flexibility in signal paths. Use analog inputs, digital AES/EBU, Livewire® AoIP; analog outputs, digital AES/EBU, Livewire or Composite. Adjust channel balancing and correct polarity separately on each channel. Save and recall input/output settings for different applications. All outputs are always active, whatever the input signal. – Automatic failover on loss of signal. Designate an alternative source and, if the primary source goes down or the STL fails, the VOLT will switch to this alternative source automatically, with adjustable sensitivity. Or change the primary source remotely if you wish. – GUI and HTML-5: a graphical interface that’s easy to navigate and understand, but with the depth of access and control you need. An HTML-5 server allows full control of VOLT from any PC, Tablet or Smartphone, without the need for any special plug-in. QuickTweak™System. Tweak your station like a processing genius. Get the processing you want in minutes! Make and hear adjustments on the air, with you in front of the VOLT or connected to it via a PC, even a cell phone. – QuickTweak is easy to understand: you can tune your sound by ear, and hear the results instantly. – QuickTweak’s six main controls allow for millions of recallable variations, directly from the VOLT’s front panel. – You can use QuickTweak on the factory presets, or on the ones you create. – You can save your own settings after using QuickTweak and compare the changes, A/B, with ease. – Any preset can be adjusted with QuickTweak, or you can adjust it even more precisely using deeper control layers.
Presets can always be refined and then saved with a new title. – Share presets by importing or exporting them with other people in your company. Back up presets on conventional memory sticks.
Total Versatility with VOLT’s DSP/Core Firmware
The firmware of the DSP/Core modules rearranges and modifies the VOLT as your needs change. DSP/Cores are not expensive options. Download the functionality you need, free of charge, install the DSP/Core firmware package via a connected computer, and reboot VOLT. It’s as simple as that. – Use the VOLT for Analog FM Stereo, with a high-quality composite clipper, to send your signal over uncompressed links, or at the transmitter, with two composite outputs. – Use VOLT in your AM station, with presets specially made to revitalize AM radio. The Tunable Asymmetric Modulation and Carrier Skew features are a great help in achieving modern results, even on old transmitters. – Use VOLT in the production studio, when finalizing programs or distributing to other stations. It comes with the tools and presets you need for contemporary production styles. – Use VOLT for HD/DAB/DRM/Streaming. The unique SENSUS algorithm reduces compression artifacts, even at low bitrates. – Use the VOLT as a dedicated Stereo Generator, in the transmitter park, for direct connection to transmitters. – Use the VOLT to have low latency in FM Stereo, to comply with government regulations, using a high-efficiency clipper, optimized for this type of broadcasting. – Built-in test tone generator for easy installation and calibration. – One rack unit (1RU): fits in any technical, master control, transmitter park, with LED meters visible from a distance.
