Orban Trio Audio Processor for: FM/AM/TV
With the Orban Optimod Trio Audio Processor, you get three audio processors in one and decide which one to use. Orban Optimod Trio is part of Orban’s new generation of audio processors. Compact in design but big on functionality: the OPTIMOD Trio can be configured as an AM Audio Processor, as an FM Processor or alternatively as an HD/DAB+/Streaming Radio Processor.
In HD mode, the Trio is also suitable for TV audio processing. Whether you need a flexible backup unit, your requirements for an Audio Processor may change or you simply want your audio to be of the highest possible quality, the OPTIMOD Trio does the job.
FM Mode of Operation: The OPTIMOD Trio offers four FM processing structures which are Five-Band, Five-Band Low Latency, Five-Band Ultra-Low Latency and Two-Band. In addition, it can also be used as a stand-alone Stereo Encoder, with latency as low as 2 ms and complete overshoot limitation in both the left/right and composite baseband domains. For countries that require the multiplex power to be limited to a specific value, the ITU BS.412 Multiplex Power Control can be activated to ensure compliance while controlling the power of the multiplexed signal. MPX power smoothly and reliably. An integrated RDS/RBDS generator supports dynamic PS scrolling and IP access. The optional μMPX Interface allows you to transmit DMPX over IP if you are using FM operating mode.
AM Operating Mode: With the OPTIMOD Trio, you can achieve the highest possible quality in short, medium and long wave AM broadcast sound. It increases the density and intensity of program material through multiband limiting and elimination of multiband distortion clipping, improving the consistency of station sound and increasing intensity and definition without producing audible side effects. The OPTIMOD Trio compensates for the high and low frequency losses of typical AM receivers with a fully adjustable program equalizer, providing up to 20dB of high frequency reinforcement (at 5 kHz) without producing the side effects found in conventional processors.
HD Operating Mode: You can choose between the Five-Band processing structure for spectrally consistent sound with good volume control and the Two-Band processing structure for transparent sound that preserves the frequency balance of the original program material while effectively controlling subjective volume. The “True Peak” limiter anticipates and controls peak levels after D/A conversion, a feature now demanded by many broadcasters. With our PreCode™ technology, various aspects of the audio can be manipulated to minimize artifacts caused by low bit rate codecs often used in DAB+.
Remote control/monitoring: The Orban OPTIMOD Trio can be configured and controlled via any HTML5 web browser. It also supports the SNMP v2 protocol and, in a later version, Ember+ support will be added. Loudness Control ITU-R BS.1770-4: Facilitates compliance with modern loudness recommendations, such as EBU R 128. Silence Detection: A programmable silence detector is available for the analog, digital and AoIP inputs. It can generate alarms and allows automatic switching to a backup input or input audio storage. Optional Streaming Monitoring Output: The processed signal can be monitored remotely via IP, allowing adjustments to the processor in locations where a clean off-air signal is not available. Optional internal storage for audio backup: A 2 GB Flash memory provides two hours of linear audio or twelve hours of AAC, MP3 or OPUS encoded audio. Optional Internet Streaming Decoder: This feature can be used as a backup audio source received via Audio-over-IP. Audience Measurement: An Internal Watermarking Encoder can be optionally added (Kantar, Nielsen or IPSOS). Optional Dual Power Supplies: The OPTIMOD Trio can be optionally equipped with monitored and redundant power supplies.
