“Wheatstone’s top-of-the-line LXE console is fully programmable and routable. This console is already known to broadcasters as one of the best on the world market, but the big news was the launch of its virtualization at NAB2019, bringing all the versatility of its established hardware platform to software.
The virtualization of the LXE “GlassLXE” proves to be just as versatile as the physical console. With an ordinary PC connected to the Wheatnet IP environment, linked to its Engine Blade, the software can be run, and that’s enough to have a fully functional console with all the features of the physical console.
Glass LXE is a multi-touch user interface that operates as a standalone virtual console on the WheatNet-IP audio network, a complete IP audio ecosystem of consoles, I/O units, accessories and codec distribution devices and SIP phones.
With the possibility of using multiple screens, we can have a complete virtual console or simply add features to an existing LXE. With a lower price and the trend towards virtualization in various sectors of the industry, this solution is proving to be very viable and a small reflection of what awaits us in the near future.”
Similar in function, sensitivity and layout to the network’s fisixca LXE control surface, Glass LXE is fully functional and ready to use as a user interface with knobs, buttons and multi-touch navigation and menus for adjusting EQ curves, filtering and other settings. GlassLXE TABLET As a stand-alone multitouch console interface on the WheatNet-IP audio network, Glass LXE can be used anywhere there is a PC touchscreen or several touchscreens connected via this network. You can run it on a laptop or on several PC screens from a cloud. Glass LXE can be used on its own or combined with LXE’s physical surface to give broadcasters full control of the console anywhere they need it and in a familiar user interface. WHEATSTONE GLASS LXE Glass LXE comes with a mixing engine to handle mixing and processing as part of the WheatNet-IP audio network. The virtual console is one of several new additions to WheatNet-IP, adding to the hundreds of software and hardware elements that make up the WheatNet-IP audio network, any of which can be connected together for any operation or purpose. WheatNet-IP is a complete AoIP infrastructure that includes AES67 compatibility. Glass LXE was modeled after WheatNet-IP’s flagship LXE console, which is known for its flexibility as a reconfigurable and compact control surface that is available in a main frame or split frame configuration for multiple operators.
